PRA Primer

This Memorandum, issued by the Administrator, Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, responds to Section 4 of the President’s January 21, 2009 memorandum – Open Government Directive by offering clarifying guidance with respect to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA) in order to specify its central requirements and to increase transparency and openness.

OMB - Federal Collection of Information 

The Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), reviews all collections of information by the Federal Government under the Paperwork Reduction Act. This website provides information relating to the Federal Collection of Information OMB Information Collection Review Inventory.

Defense Privacy, Civil Liberties, and Transparency Division (DPCLTD)

The mission of the Defense Privacy, Civil Liberties, and Transparency Division is to implement the Department of Defense's Privacy and Civil Liberties programs through advice, monitoring, official reporting, and training. The DPCLTD is responsible for implementation of the Department of Defense (DoD) Privacy Program.

The Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA)

OIRA reviews all collections of information by the Federal Government under the Paperwork Reduction Act. Reginfo.gov gives the public access to current and historical data on information collection reviews (ICRs) by the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) under the Paperwork Reduction Act. The public is also able to view and search information collection reviews on Reginfo.gov.

The DoD Public Collection Program Web Site

The Department of Defense (DoD) Public Collection Program is administered by the Information Management Division (IMD), Executive Services Directorate, Washington Headquarters Services.

This web site provides a listing of approved, under review, and recently expired public information collections.  It provides guidance for processing public information collection requests for approval by the Office of Management and Budget in accordance with the requirements of the Paperwork Reduction Act.

Regulations.gov

Regulations.gov is a site for submitting comments on proposed regulations and related documents published by the U.S. Federal Government. This site can also be used to search and review original regulatory documents as well as comments submitted by others.
