Obtain a Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA)Clearance

Process Summary

The following actions are required to obtain a PRA Clearance for a new, existing or expired information collection. Army Information Management Control Officer (IMCO) will provide any support that you may need during the entire process.

    Complete the 60-day Federal Register Notice (FRN) to DoD for publication-comment in the Federal Register.

    The Army IMCO submits the 60-day FRN to the Federal register for public comment.

    During the 60-day period, you must complete the OMB Form 83-I and Supporting Statements and documents and submit them to the Army IMCO.

    After the 60-day comment period, your completed PRA clearance request–OMB Form 83-I, Supporting Statements and documents is submitted to DoD IMDDepartment of Defense Information Management Division for review and submission to OMBOffice of Management and Budget.

    DoD publishes a 30-day FRN and submits the PRA clearance request to OMBOffice of
    Management
    and Budget
    for review and decision.
