The Army Declassification Activity is responsible for reviewing all 25-year old historical Army records for declassification, exemption, or referral to other federal agencies in accordance with Executive Order 13526. Ensures all Restricted Data / Formerly Restricted Data (nuclear) is identified and protected IAW the Kyl and Lott amendments (Section 3161, National Defense Authorization Act for FY 1999 and Section 3149, National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2000). Represents the Army declassification program at interagency conferences and on intergovernmental working groups. Conducts Mandatory, Gulf War and other special declassification reviews, as required.
